Human Rights and Humanitarian Issues in Armenia on the Agenda of International Discussions in Warsaw
On October 7–8, Anna Melikyan and Hasmik Harutyunyan, legal experts from the Protection of Rights without Borders NGO (PRWB), held a series of meetings with international partners in Warsaw on the sidelines of the OSCE/ODIHR conference.
Discussions addressed domestic human rights issues in Armenia, as well as regional developments and humanitarian concerns. Particular attention was paid to Armenian captives and detained persons, as well as the ongoing peace process. The PRWB experts stressed that humanitarian issues must remain an integral part of the peace agenda.
The preservation of Armenian cultural heritage in Artsakh was also raised as an important component of human rights protection and efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.
