Zarine Avanesyan turned to the “Protection of Rights without Borders” NGO (PRWB) regarding an issue concerning the granting of her pension.
On February 11, 2025, she applied for a pension. However, her work experience was calculated as only nine years, resulting in the rejection of her pension application. Three periods of employment recorded in her employment record book had not been included in the calculation of her work experience.
PRWB lawyer Nina Hakobyan undertook the representation of Zarine Avanesyan’s interests and brought the case before the court.
In its judgment of July 2, 2026, the RA Administrative Court granted the claim, ordering the Unified Social Service to award the plaintiff a pension effective from February 11, 2025, and to include the disputed periods in the calculation of her work experience.
The case is significant because the court upheld the individual’s right to a pension, finding that, where documents confirming employment history are available, the absence of archival records cannot, in itself, constitute grounds for denying a pension.
