The Inspection Body Has Initiated an Inspection into Possible Violations of the Rights of Indian Workers
As previously reported, PRWB submitted requests to the law enforcement authorities and the Health and Labour Inspection Body regarding possible violations of the rights of Indian workers at the Grand Textile factory. We called for an inspection of the working conditions at the factory and an assessment of the alleged violations reported in the public domain.
According to the response received from the Inspection Body, a risk-based thematic inspection is currently underway. The inspection is being conducted within the framework of the Government of the Republic of Armenia’s approved checklists on “Oversight of the Application of Occupational Health and Safety Standards in Manufacturing Enterprises” and “Labour Law Compliance.”
We will continue to monitor the proceedings closely and call for a thorough investigation into all alleged labour rights violations, as well as an appropriate legal response to any violations that are established.
