The Protection of Rights Without Borders NGO submitted a report
The Protection of Rights Without Borders NGO submitted a report to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers addressing the principles, standards, and practices governing the selection and appointment of judges in the Republic of Armenia.
In their thematic report on the principles guiding the selection of judges, the Special Rapporteur examined the experiences of various countries and identified the minimum safeguards necessary to ensure the independence, impartiality, and integrity of judicial selection processes, as well as to strengthen public confidence in the judiciary.
This provided an important opportunity to bring issues concerning Armenia’s judicial system to the international agenda and to contribute to the ongoing development and promotion of international standards in the field of judicial independence.
