Meeting with the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan.

On June 6, the President of the “Protection of Rights without Borders” NGO, Araks Melkonyan, together with colleagues, met with the Human Rights Defender, Anahit Manasyan.

During the meeting, several key issues related to human rights protection in Armenia were discussed, including the application of criminal liability measures in the context of electoral processes, the widespread use of restrictive measures involving deprivation of liberty, and the need for an effective response to hate speech and discrimination.

The importance of safeguarding the fundamental rights of detainee Arthur Osipyan and ensuring his prompt release was also raised.

Civil society representatives emphasized the importance of continued cooperation with the Office of the Human Rights Defender, aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of human rights protection mechanisms and addressing existing challenges in the field.
