
Victory at the ECHR in the Cases of Ashghyan and Poghosyan v. Armenia
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), in its judgment
On December 4, Hasmik Harutyunyan, Legal Expert at the Protection of Rights Without Borders NGO (PRWB), took part in a panel discussion in Brussels titled “Armenia’s Challenges and Opportunities on the Path to EU Membership: Is the Implementation of CEPA a Precondition for Submitting an EU Membership Application?”
During the discussion, Hasmik Harutyunyan presented her analysis of the current state of human rights protection in Armenia and the progress of the Human Rights Strategy. She highlighted key gaps, persistent challenges, and the reforms required to ensure meaningful implementation of Armenia’s commitments under CEPA.

Harutyunyan underscored that genuine human rights protection and the establishment of effective, transparent reform mechanisms are essential pillars of Armenia’s EU integration path.
The panel also featured contributions from other civil society representatives.
