SUMMARY Overview of court monitoring results in cases on civil forfeiture of illicit assets in Armenia
From November 15, 2023, to May 31, 2024, the NGO “Protection of Rights without Borders” monitored cases related to the confiscation of property of illicit origin being examined by the Anti-Corruption Court of the Republic of Armenia.
A total of 99 court hearings in 26 civil cases, selected randomly, were monitored. For each case, between one and ten hearings were observed. The monitoring covered both the preliminary and trial stages of the proceedings.
In addition, all relevant judicial acts published in the 26 observed cases by May 31, 2024, were reviewed.
The report highlights legislative and practical issues and includes corresponding recommendations.
