Defending the Rights of Armenians Forcibly Displaced from Artsakh on International Platforms
On November 25, IPAS legal expert Anna Melikyan participated in a conference dedicated to the rights of Armenians forcibly displaced from Artsakh, hosted at the Canadian Student House of the International University of Paris.
Organized by the Association de Soutien à l’Artsakh and Sciences Po Refugee Help (SPRH), the event brought together experts and advocates to discuss ongoing legal and humanitarian challenges.

In her remarks, Melikyan outlined the human rights violations and war crimes committed against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the legal dimensions of the blockade and forced displacement. She stressed the urgent need to document these violations and to activate international legal protection mechanisms based on that evidence, noting that safeguarding the rights of displaced persons is both a pressing and indispensable priority.
Discussions also addressed inter-state cases before the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the UN International Court of Justice, the importance of filing individual complaints with the ECHR and relevant UN bodies, and the need to restore violated rights within peace-oriented processes.
