Hasmik Harutyunyan was Reelected as the President of Public Monitors Implementing Supervision over the Criminal-Executive Institutions and Bodies of the Ministry of Justice of RA

The working meeting of the Group of Public Monitors Implementing Supervision over the Criminal-Executive Institutions and Bodies of the Ministry of Justice of RA was held on September 21 of 2019.

The issue of the election of the President of the Monitoring Group was the key issue of the agenda.

In the outcomes of the discussions, Hasmik Harutyunayn, the Legal Expert of the Protection of Rights without Border NGO was elected as the President of the Monitoring Group.

It should be mentioned, that Hasmik Harutyunayn was involved in the Monitoring Group since January of 2013.

Harutyunyan has constantly highlighted the human rights protection of detained people. In that regard, Ms. Harutyunyan has conducted a number of researched on the penitentiary sector and has presented the relevant recommendation in this regards. The latter has participated in the in discussion-events on the sector raising a number of problems and presenting their solutions.
