PRWB against MFA

The Republic of Armenia Administrative Court accepted the appeal on the demand to provide the requested information on the issues of public importance filed by the Protection of Rights without Borders NGO against the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

By the Decree of February 03 of 2021, the RA Administrative Court accepted the appeal of the Protection of Rights without Borders NGO filed against the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 25 of 2021 on the failure to  provide full information requested by the Organization.

On January 16 of 2020, the Organization filed an inquiry to the RA Government, RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and RA Ministry of Defence to provide additional explanations and information on the agreement signed in regard to the ceasefire in the conflict zone of the Nagorno Karabakh, end of the military activities and other relevant information on the agreement.

On December 24 of 2021, the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to the inquiry, stated that the Republic of Armenia and Russian Federation are consistent in implementing their commitments undertaken by the provisions of the trilateral agreement announcement considering the latter as the main precondition of establishing stability in the region. In regard to the raised questions, the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs clarified that the answers to the presented questions have already been issued by the RA Prime Minister through the relevant interviews and announcements, as well as during the sitting of the Security Council.

Important issues, such as the measures taken in regard to the protection of the border settlements and ensuring the security of the population, raised by the Organization remained unanswered.

According to the Organization, the activities RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs are not legitimate and by such documentation, the MFA attempted to conceal the rejection of the provision of the information.

In fact, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by its response made a linkage to an open, public source of information, where the answers of the inquiry filed by the Organization, which are of public concern and importance, are missing.
