Public Discussion on the Topic “RA Government Draft Program of Anti-Corruption Strategy and Its Action Plan for 2019-2022”

A public discussion on the topic “RA Government Draft  Program of Anti-Corruption Strategy and Its Action Plan for 2019-2022” was hosted by the Deputy Minister of Justice Tigran Khachikyan on July 10 of 2019. The discussion was organized by the RA Ministry of Justice and «Freedom of Information Center» respectively and was attended by the civil society representatives.

The Deputy Minister thanked the partner NGOs for their active particiaption and mentioned, that the Ministry of Justice highlights the active participation of the civic engagement in the elaboration process of such fundamental document. The Deputy Minister urged to continue the active engagement in the competition of the Anti-corruption policy council.

Haykuhi Harutyunyan, the President of the Protection of Rights without Borders NGO also participated in the mentioned discussion. H. Harutyunyan raised the issue of the political component in the appointment procedure of the head of the united body investigating the curruption crimes recommending to make such changes, which will neutrilize the influence of the political majority.

«The solution of such problems requires solutions conditioned by the Constitution reforms and in this case we centrilze our fight against corruption efforts towards the satisfaction of the requirements for the establishment of the specialised anti-corruption body, but the mains problem is that regardless the political will, there are no real actions directed toward the neutrilization of the political influences» – mentioned Haykuhi Harutyunyan.
