A story of revenge

The European Court of Human Rights, informed by the letter dated July 27 of 2017 informed, that the complaint-applications on the application of detention as a preventive measure against Hovsep Khurshudyan, Davit Sanasaryan, Armen Martirosyan and Vahagn Ghumashyan have been registered by the Court. It is beyond suspect, that the next decisions against Armenia will be made in Strasbourg, since the mentioned people has no connection with the activities related to the capture of the Patrol Police Station of Yerevan, and they were deprived from liberty, in essence, for exercising their political rights: organizing of assembly or expressing of their opinion. But if Hovsep Khurshudyan, Davit Sanasaryan, Armen Martirosyan and Vahagn Ghumashyan are now detained, that is to say that the authorities have accepted the political motive of their actions, Andreas Ghukasyan who has been detained for the same actions, not only continues to be under detention, but also a trail on his case has been initiated, which was intervened during the first court session due to the summer vacations.

In case of Andreas Ghukasyan, the political component is more highlighted, since the later from the opposition position participated in presidential elections of 2013 being one of the competitors of Serzh Sargsyan.

As foreseen by the legal logic and political conjecture, during the trail the preventive measure applied towards the political figure should be changed and it is beyond suspect, that the defending party will come up with such interference during the upcoming court session, particularly in the background of the information received from Strasbourg.
