Study visit to the eu institutions in Luxembourg and Brussels

The winning team of the EU Court of Justice moot court competition implemented for the first time in Armenia by “Protection of Rights without Borders” NGO made a study visit to the EU institutions in Luxembourg and Brussels for the period 29 September to 5 October 2013.
On 1 October the group visited the European Union Commission where a lecture on the European Union structure, operating principles and accession rules was given to the participants by political analyst of international relations Mauro Galuccio.
On 2 October the group made a visit to the EU Court of Justice in Luxembourg where they participated in two lectures on “The Functioning of the European Union Court of Justice” and “The Impact of and Decisions Held by the European Union Court of Justice”. Within the scope of these lectures the participants were presented with cases heard by the EU Court of Justice involving Armenian nationals. The group also toured the building of the EU Court of Justice and became familiar with its conference room, library and judges’ offices.
On 3 October the participants visited the European Union Parliament and Parlamentarium where they became acquainted with the establishment of the EU, as well as its current functioning and development activities through an interactive method in about five hours.
