Discussion-Meeting with the Participants of the Moot Court Competition

On  September 6 of 2013, the employees of the Protection of Rights without Border NGO had a meeting with the participants of the oral phase of the Moot Court Competition.

During the meeting, the procedure for the oral phase of the competition was presented, as well as the responses to the questions the competition participants were asked.

The employees of the Protection of Rights without Border NGO presented the order of the ballot to make the process more open and transparent for the participants.

The participants were asked questions related to the procedure of the conducting of the judicial order.

It should be mentioned, that within the period of September 10-12 of 2013, the model moot court competition of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) has been conducting.

To participate to the moot court competition, 11 teams from 8 educational institutions submitted applications for the participation in the moot court competition and 4 participant teams composed of maximum 5 participants and 1 trainer submitted written works. The teams from the French University in Armenia, American University of Armenia, Law Faculty of the Republic of Armenia National Academy of Science and the Faculty of International Affairs of Yerevan State University will participate in the oral phase of the competition.

The experienced specialists with the profound knowledge, specialist on European Union law, representatives of international organizations, who were elected based on the relevant imitations will participate as a judged in the judicial sittings.

The winner team will make a study visit to a number of European Union institutions, particularly to the European Court of Justice in Luxemburg.

The moot court competition is carried out within the scope of the Project on “Strengthening the Justice System in Armenia through the Study of EU Law”. The Project has been implementing since January of 2013 by the “Protection of Rights without Borders” NGO with the financial support of the European Union. The main objective of the Project is to contribute to the improvement of the knowledge on EU justice system and the dissemination of the information through organizing of different awareness raising events.
