On March 21-32, the Protection of Rights without Borders NGO organized a two-day training course on the topic “Human Rights in Administrative Proceedings” specifically tailored for the employees of Yerevan Municipality and Yerevan administrative districts.
The training course was conducted by human rights experts Ara Ghazaryan and Ashkhen Dashyan.
During the training course, fundamental principles of human rights and administrations, characteristics of administrative proceedings, as well as the codes of conduct for public official were presented and discussed.
The discussion emphasized the interdependence between safeguarding property rights and the active responsibilities of the state in the context of administrative proceedings, particularly when minors and individuals with disabilities are involved. It underscored the need for tailored approaches to ensure fair treatment and access to justice for all parties.
During the training course, Argishti Ghazaryan, the President of the RA Administrative Court, delivered a lecture regarding the judicial practice of appealing the administration of self-government bodies, which was latter discussed among the training participants.
The training courses are held periodically with the aim to enhance the quality of public administration by building the capacity of both state and local self-government bodies.
The training sessions are carried out by the financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
