Gagik Harutyunyan President of the Supreme Judicial Council

Gagik Harutyunyan was born on March 23 of 1948.

In 1970 he graduated from the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Economy, then he continued his education in postgraduate studies of Yerevan State University.

Within the period of November 1991 to July of 1992, he carried out the duties of the RA Prime Minister.

On February 6 of 1996, Mr. Harutyunyan was appointed as the President of the Republic of Armenia Constitution Court.

On February 28 of 2018, he was elected by the National Assembly as a Member of the Supreme Judicial Council.

On March 5 of 2018, he was elected as the President of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Gevorg Danielyan Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born in 1958

Within the period of 1975 – 1983 he studies in the Yerevan State University, faculty of law.

During the period of 1984 – 1987 he studies in the National Academy of Science, where he defended his thesis in 1987.

2007 – 2010 Republic of Armenia Minister of Justice

On February 28 of 2018, he was elected by the National Assembly as a Member of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Liparit Melikjanyan, Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born in 1974.

Within the period of 1991-1996 he graduated from the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law.

In1997 he was enrolled in the  distance postgraduate study, faculty of law of Yerevan State University.

Within the period of 1999-2003 he worked in “Great Ararat” LTD as a lawyer.

Since 2005, Mr. Melikjanyan has been a lecture at the Civil Law Department, Faculty of Law, Yerevan State University, since 2007 as an assistant in the same department.

On February 28 of 2018, he was elected by the National Assembly as a Member of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Hayk Hovhannisyan, Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born in 1976.

Within the period of 1993-1998 he studied at the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law.

In 1999, he graduated from the American University of Armenia, Masters Degree in Law.

In 2006, he was elected as a member of the Chamber of Advocates Council.

Since 2014, ha has been lecturing at the RA School of Advocates (representativeness  in international arbitration and advocate abilities).

Within the period of 2017-18, he was a leading expert of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on bankruptcy legislation reform.

On February 28 of 2018, he was elected by the National Assembly as a Member of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Sergey Meghryan, Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born in 1976.

Within the period of 1992–1997 he studied at the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law.

During the period of 1997–2000 he continued his education in postgraduate studies of Yerevan State University, “Private Law”.

He was elected as the Head of the Civil Trail Department of the Yerevan State University for two times respectively in 2007 and 2018.

Within the period of 2003-2004, he held the position of Rector of “Grigor Zohrap” University.

Armen Bektashyan,  Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born in 1971.

During the period of 1991-1996 he studied at the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law.

In 1999 he was appointed as an investigator of Ararat Region Prosecutor’s Office.

In 2003, he was appointed as an investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of Malatia-Sebastia Administrative District of Yerevan.

In 2005, he was appointed as an investigator of Prosecutor’s Office of Avan and Nor Nork Administrative District of Yerevan.

In 2007, he was appointed as an investigator of Prosecutor’s Office of Avan and Nor Nork Administrative District of Yerevan.

Within the period of 2007-2014 he worked in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor Regions.

On March 20 of 2014, by the Republic of Armenia President Decree NH-40A, he was appointed as a judge of Court of General Jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork Marash Administrative Districts of Yerevan.

In accordance with HO-34-N Law, adopted by the National Assembly on December 21 of 2017, he continued to carry out his duties in the position of a Judge of Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction.

Ani Mkhitaryan, Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born in 1971.

Within the period of 1989-1994, she studied at the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law.

During the period of 1996-2005 she worked as a leading specialist, then as a deputy head of department at the Republic of Armenia Constitution Court.

During the period of 2005-2008 she was as a judge at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Lori Region.

Within the period of 2008-2009 she was a judge at the Northern Civil Judge.

On February 27 of 2009, by the Republic of Armenia President Decree dated February 27 of 2009, she was appointed as a judge of General Jurisdiction Court of Ajapnyak and Davtashen Administrative Districts of Yerevan.

In accordance with HO-34-N Law, adopted by the National Assembly on December 21 of 2017, she continued to carry out her duties in the position of a Judge of First Instance Court  of General Jurisdiction.

On March 1 of 2018, she was elected by the Supreme Judicial Council as a Member of the General Assembly of Republic of Armenia Judges.

Sergey Chichoyan, Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born on 1966.

Within the period of 1983-1988 studied at the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law.

During the period of 1992-1994, he worked as a senior investigator for particularly important cases at the investigation department of the Gegharkunik Region.

During the period of 1994-1999 he worked at the Kamo Investigation Departmen as the Head of the Department.

Within the period of 1999-2003 he was a judge of First Instance Court of Gegharkuniq Region.

During 2003-2008 he was the President of the First Instance Court of Gegharkuniq Region.

Within the period of 2008-2009 he held the position of the President of the Northern Civil Court.

On February 27 of 2009, by the RA President Decree dated February 27 of 2009, he was appointed as a Judge of the Criminal Court of Appeal.

Armen Khachatryan, Member of the Supreme Judicial Council

Was born on1971 in Gyumri.

Within the period of 1988-1993 he studied at the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Law.

Within the period of 1995 to 1999, the worked as an investigator at the Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Since 1999, he worked as an investigator at the Military Prosecutor’s Office in Shirak region, then in 2000 he was appointed as a senior investigator in the same Prosecutor’s Office.

During 2003-2005, he worked as an assistant to the Military Prosecutor of the Gyumri Regional Prosecutor’s Office, then until 2006, he held the position of a senior assistant to the Military Prosecutor.

Within the period of 2006-2007, he worked as a Judge of First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat Region of the RA.

On August 10 of 2018, by the Decree of the Republic of Armenia he was appointed as a Judge First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak Region of the RA.

On March 1 of 2018, he was elected by the Supreme Judicial Council as a Member of the General Assembly of Republic of Armenia Judges.

On August 10 of 2018, by the Decree of the Republic of Armenia he was appointed as a Judge of Bankruptcy Court.
