“One version of the Judicial Code was sent to the Venice Commission another version was adopted by the RA National Assembly”

 

A discussion on the topic “Adoption of Judicial Code in National Assembly: Problematic Provisions and Concerns” was held in Media Center Initiative on December 25 of 2017.

During the discussion, Haykuhi Harutyunyan, the President of the “Protection of Rights without Borders” NGO mentioned that the studies, which raised the sectoral problems, actually were neglected: “While the Venice Commission was preparing the opinion on the draft constitutional law, a new draft law on making amendments to the current judicial code was elaborated. Parallel, two draft laws on the same law were published on the website of National Assembly: one draft law on the draft constitutional law, another on the draft law on making amendments on the current judicial code. The latter consist contradictions from the angle of regulations”.
